9 Maintenance
The IM 160 should be checked and cleaned periodically.
Normal care of the IM 160 is limited to periodic cleaning of the outside.
The guiding elements have to be free of dirt. The clamping units have to
be free of dirt. The clamping units have to guaranty tight fixation of the
work pieces without changing of the position.
The planer blades have to checked, if necessary turn then 180° or
replace. The planer drive should ensure a continuous chip.
The effective areas of the heating element have to be coplanar and
protected against dirt and mechanical damage. Check the fusion
surfaces with a temperature measurment device for the set temperature.
9.1 Replacement of worn parts
PTFE coating of the heating element:
Clots, cracks or other damage:
heating element needs to be recoated
send the heating element to the nearest service center or to the
manufacturer.
Danger of injury!
Sharp planer blades!
Danger of cutting if the planer blades, which are sharp on both sides, are
touched.
The planer blades on the planer should be replaced periodically.
