Figure 37 on page 37 shows another solution for non-EMV generic CRINDs. In this case,
there is an external current source [such as a Forecourt Communications Interface (F
CI) box]
for each pump and CRIND. The pump wiring passes through a BRCM2.x model ending with
02 to add the high-speed signal.
With EMV, the CRIND current loop is no longer used. Therefore for Pass
port systems
communicating with Gilbarco dispensers, a BRCM2.x ending with 02 is sufficient
(no current loop boards).
Similarly, for generic solutions, the CRIND current loop connect
ion goes idle while the pump
loop remains active and can carry high-speed signal.
