Replace the Linear Sensor (if
present)
1. Stop the pump at the middle of its stroke. Relieve
the pressure, page 7.
2. Disconnect the air line to the motor.
3. See F
IG. 8 on page 16. Pry off the top cover (30).
4. Hold the adapter (33) with a wrench to keep it from
turning, and unscrew the lift ring (21). See F
IG. 15.
5. Remove the screws (134) and carefully slide the
housing (132) off the air valve. Disconnect the sen-
sor cable from the circuit board. See F
IG. 14.
6. Thread the cable back through the hole (H) in the
side of the adapter (33) and extend it out the top of
the adapter.
7. Unscrew the adapter (33) and sensor (35). Lift the
sensor straight up out of the air motor.
8. Apply thread adhesive to the new sensor housing.
Screw the sensor (35) into the top cap (1). Torque to
28-32 ft-lb (37.8-43.2 N•m).
9. Apply thread adhesive to the adapter (33). Extend
the sensor cable straight up out the top of the
adapter, then screw the adapter into the top cap (1).
Torque to 38-42 ft-lb (51.3-56.7 N•m).
10. Thread the sensor cable through the hole (H) in the
side of the adapter, and reconnect it to the circuit
board. See F
IG. 14, page 23. Carefully slide the
housing (132) onto the air valve. Thread the screws
(134) in by hand, then torque to 40 in-lb (4.5 N•m).
11. Apply thread adhesive to the lift ring (21). Hold the
adapter (33) with a wrench to keep it from turning,
and torque the lift ring to 38-42 ft-lb (51.3-56.7 N•m).
12. Reinstall the top cover (30).
13. Reconnect the air line to the motor.

Thread in by hand, then torque to 40 in-lb (4.5 N•m).
Apply adhesive.
Torque to 38-42 ft-lb (51.3-56.7 N•m).
Torque to 28-32 ft-lb (37.8-43.2 N•m).
