DECK CLEANING
After each use remove grass buildup
from under the mower deck. Excessive
grass buildup will interfere with the
operation and performance of the
mower deck. Excessive grass buildup
may also cause component failure.
BLADE INSPECTION
Do not handle mower blades with bare
hands. Use heavy leather gloves or
wrap blade with protective material
and block securely when removing
blades. Careless or improper handling
may result in serious injury.
Inspect blades before each use to determine that
they are mounted securely and are in good condi-
tion. Replace any blade that is bent, excessively
nicked, worn, or has any other damage. Small
nicks can be ground out when sharpening.

Read all safety information on pages 5 through 8.
Shut off tractor engine, remove key

LUBRICATION
(refer to Fig. 12)
Do not let excess grease collect on or around parts,
particularly when operating in sandy areas. The
chart gives the frequency of lubrication in operat-
ing hours based on normal operating conditions.
The accompanying illustration shows the lubrica-
tion points. Severe or unusual conditions may
require more frequent lubrication.
In addition to these lubrication points, lightly oil
all linkage pivot points.
Use an SAE multipurpose type grease for all lo-
cations shown. Be sure to clean fitting
thoroughly before using grease gun.
