Adjusting Cutting Height
Cutting height can be adjusted from 1-1/2 –
4-1/4 in. (38 – 108 mm) using the height of
cut (HOC) rods and washers supplied with
the unit.
NOTE: If necessary, up to an additional 3/4
in. (19 mm) of cutting height can be obtained.
See Additional Cutting Height on page 16.
Holes in the height of cut (HOC) rods are
used to adjust the cut height. The holes are
spaced at 1/2 in. (12 mm) increments. In
addition, spacers are added or removed to
allow cut height adjustments in 1/4 in. (6 mm)
increments. Grab handles (A) for adjusting
height are located on both sides of the deck.
HOC spacers (B) are stored under the center
belt cover (see Figure 8). To use, remove hex
bolts retaining HOC spacers and remove
spacers. Replace hex bolts to store.
To adjust cut height (Figure 9):
1. Using the grab handle, raise the deck
until the desired hole in the HOC rod (C)
is above the top of the frame and washer
(F).
2. Insert the hair pin (D) in the hole and set
deck back down. Insert hair pins from
the outside facing inward.
NOTE: Ensure that washer is positioned
between hair pin and frame.
3. To raise cut height by 1/4 in. (6 mm),
insert HOC spacer (B) between hair pin
and washer.
4. Repeat for three remaining HOC rods.
IMPORTANT: Ensure that all HOC rods are
adjusted to the same cut height.
