Why won't the main burner come on in my Groen BPM-30GC Commercial Food Equipment even though the pilot light is on and the spark stays on?
    • C
      Caleb ArmstrongAug 18, 2025
If the pilot light is on, but the main burner of your Groen Commercial Food Equipment won't ignite and the spark remains on, you should check for improper grounding and repair it with high-temperature wire if necessary. Inspect the pilot burner ceramic insulator for cracks. Ensure that the high tension cable isn't grounded out; correct this if it is. Verify proper gas pressure. Clean the pilot assembly or replace it if needed. Tighten all mechanical and electrical connections. If the issue persists, consider replacing the ignition control module.

If there is a spark, but the pilot light on your Groen Commercial Food Equipment won't ignite, ensure the pilot valve is securely connected to the terminals. Check for 24 VAC at the PV terminals to ground; if it's not present, replace the ignition control module. Verify that the gas pressure is at least 3.5” W.C. (8.7 millibars). Check for gas flow at the pilot: examine the pilot gas line for kinks or obstructions, clean the orifice if necessary, and check the solenoid operation of the pilot valve on the gas valve, repairing or replacing as needed. Ensure the pilot spark gap is located in the pilot gas stream; adjust or replace the pilot burner if it's not. Finally, check for drafts and shield the pilot burner if necessary.

      Katelyn WilsonAug 22, 2025
If the main burner of your Groen Commercial Food Equipment ignites but doesn't stay on, inspect the burner ground for damaged wires or loose connections, replacing with high-temperature wire if necessary. Also, check for low gas supply pressure. If the issue persists, consider replacing the ignition control module.

How to fix a Groen BPM-30GC when it does not produce a spark?
    • N
      Nathan PeckAug 26, 2025
If your Groen Commercial Food Equipment isn't producing a spark, check the controller to ensure it's energized. Verify the AC voltage between the terminals on the secondary side of the transformer; if it's not 24 Volts, replace the transformer. Make sure the high tension cable is in good condition; replace it if cracked or brittle. Inspect the pilot electric ceramic for cracks or breaks and check the pilot spark gap, re-gapping if necessary.

Why does pilot flame go out when Combination Control knob is released on Groen BPM-30GC Commercial Food Equipment?
    • C
      Catherine MorrisAug 30, 2025
If the pilot flame goes out when the Combination Control knob is released on your Groen Commercial Food Equipment, check the pilot gas adjustment. Ensure the connections from the Powerpile generator to the Pilotstat power unit and Powerpile operator are clean and secure. Determine if the open and closed circuit output voltages of the generator are within the acceptable range shown by the charts in the manual for the W720 Systems Tester. Also, check the resistance of the Pilotstat power unit. If an appropriate meter is unavailable, replace the generator first, then the power unit.
