5. Emergency operation (bypass)
If it is necessary to continue pump operation even if replacement or repair of the terminal box is not possible, establish
emergency operation by connecting the motor direct to the mains supply.
Emergency operation is illustrated on a label on the cover over the motor terminals. See fig. 25.
5.1 Establishing emergency operation
1. Loosen the four screws in the terminal box cover, and remove the cover from the terminal box.
2. Remove the cover over the supply terminals. See fig. 23. Remove the three mains supply conductors from the
supply terminals, but leave the protective earth conductor in the PE terminal.
3. Remove the cover over the motor terminals. See fig. 24. Unscrew the nuts from the motor terminals.
4. Connect the conductors as shown on the label on the cover over the motor terminals. See fig. 25.
Use the screws from the supply terminals and the nuts from the motor terminals. See fig. 26.
Before establishing emergency operation of the pump, make sure that the motor is OK.
You may for instance meg the motor.
When emergency operation has been established, the motor is only protected by its backup
fuse. Normal operation must therefore be re-established as quickly as possible.
