  If the switch on your HALE Control Unit stays ON and the motor keeps running, first, ensure that cables aren't touching each other or other objects. Check cables for defects like fraying, splits, or corrosion, and repair or replace them as needed. Verify that each cable is tight and torqued to specifications. Use a VOM to check the solenoid for proper operation; it should open and close with the control switch. If it doesn't, replace the solenoid. Also, ensure proper voltage (minimum of 9.0VDC for 12VDC systems, 18.0VDC for 24VDC systems).

  If the switch chatters, pops, or clicks, but the motor doesn't work on your HALE Control Unit, check the solenoid base screws for tightness and corrosion, cleaning as necessary. Ensure proper grounding of the switch base to the motor and the motor to the chassis. Inspect cables for defects like fraying, splits, or corrosion, and repair or replace them. Verify that each cable is tight and torqued to specifications. Ensure the apparatus battery is fully charged. Use a VOM to check wires for proper voltage (minimum of 9.0VDC for 12VDC systems, 18.0VDC for 24VDC systems). Also, inspect the plastic body for cracks that may allow moisture to enter, and replace the solenoid if suspected.
