Double-click on the “System” icon.
Click on the “Hardware” tab.
Click on the “Device manager” button
Find and expand the “Ports” icon by
clicking on the ‘+’ left to the icon.
Now you will see a screen not so different
from the picture above. Here you see that
there are many devices using a COM
number, This may varies from PC to PC.
COM7, the one we need is called “Serial
On USB Port (COM7).
With that number in mind you can close the
Device Manager window, and continue to
next step.
The number connected to the “Serial On
USB Port” is in this case 7. But keep in
mind, that this is just a guide, you need to
see your self, what number your “Serial On
USB Port has been installed on.
