liquid refrigerant accumulated in the
compressor during shipping. The
crankcase heater will energize when
main power is supplied to OPC chiller.
3.1.2 Failure to energize crankcase
heater 12 prior to startup may cause
damage to compressor and shorten
compressor lifespan.
Haskris recommends leaving main power
to chiller on at all times.
3.2 Final Inspection
3.2.1 Tank Level
Once the system is ON, have an extra
supply of glycol solution on hand to
replenish the reservoir, as the glycol level in
the storage tank will drop as the
interconnecting hose and pipe fill. Continue
filling the reservoir until the glycol solution
level in the reservoir reaches the full mark
on tank. Check liquid level after one week of
operation.
3.2.2 Leaks and Line Debris
Check to make sure all external piping is
leak-tight and that the system is operating
satisfactorily. During initial operation the
circulating glycol solution will flush debris
from the closed loop and deposit it into the
reservoir. If necessary, drain the reservoir
and refill it with clean glycol solution. Gravity
drain provided. Check all connections for
leaks one week after unit startup.
