5.4 Propylene Glycol Change,
Draining the Reservoir
Haskris recommends that the entire
systems Glycol solution be changed if
the pH is outside the allowable level of 7
to 10 as measured on the pH test strip.
1) Turn off the Chiller.
2) Close supply and return valves.
3) Remove the protective cap from the
supply tank drain valve and connect
hose.
4) Place the other end of the hose in a
large bucket or drum, depending on
system tank size glycol solution
removed can be 12 gallons.
5) Open the drain valve.
6) Liquid level in tank can be seen thru
tank wall.
7) After reservoir is completely drained,
close the tank drain valve, remove
hose and replace protective cap.
5.5 Propylene Glycol Change,
Draining the Piping
1) Turn off the Chiller.
2) Close the supply and return valves.
3) Remove protective cap from line purge
valves and connect hose.
4) Place other end of hose in a large
bucket or drum.
5) Open the supply line purge valve and
drain as much glycol solution as
possible.
6) Open the return line purge valve and
drain as much glycol solution as
possible.
7) Repeat this process for all other drains
located at the base of each rise.
8) After the reservoir and piping are fully
drained, refer to sections 2.9, 2.10 and
2.11 in this manual for system filling
instructions.
