performance, comparable with miniature true condenser
microphones. They run on very low voltages from their own power
supplies and exhibit exceptionally wider and flatter frequency
responses, high sensitivity, tolerance to higher sound pressure
levels, with exceptionally low noise and distortion at a very low
power consumption and at reasonably lower cost

xi) True condenser or ribbon microphones - Run optimally at 48v
from EDB-2 VAP or most mixers via XLR connections. They deliver
high quality amplification at low stage volume levels without
problems
xii) Electret condenser microphones - Operate at low voltages via
batteries or on low phantom power voltages usually between about
5v-11v. The sound quality is normally considerably lower than with
true condenser microphones or MEMS, but may be powered by
EDB-2 VAP or by EDM-1 H.E, EDB-2 H.E, using 9v-11v phantom to
stereo jack plugs. These are the type of miniature microphone
normally included with non-Headway pickup systems. Check
voltage requirements and whether tip or ring wiring is required.
Beware that 48v is likely to damage them
