xiii) Dynamic microphones - Include the popular Shure SM57 or
some miniature microphones and may connect via XLR or jack but
do not require powering and are not damaged by phantom power.
They are often tough and reliable but not terribly sensitive and have
an uneven frequency response. They usually benefit from treble
boosts and mid cuts. Most are for external use on stands. Miniature
versions are often used primarily for drums, brass or woodwind
3.1 IMPEDANCE SWITCHES - Ch.1 & Ch.2.
Located on top of EDB-2 VAP near the start of the signal chain
Input impedance 3 way switches make a subtle difference to tone
and response, but with least effect for active pickups. They apply to
jack inputs only
Ch.1 - Tip and Ring connectors on Ch.1 jack IN each have their own
independent input impedance switches
Ch.2 - Input Impedance switch offers three optimum settings to Tip
if Stereo jack or if Mono jack plug are used.
Ch.2 - Should Stereo jack plug be used, Ring connection is set by
the Input Impedance Ring setting for Ch.1, in absence of a jack plug
inserted into Ch.1 jack socket
Microphone inputs have fixed impedances which are not affected by
the Impedance switch. See: 3.1.4 and Electrical Specifications 19.2
