shows a hand key connected between
the
GND
and
HANU
KEY
screws. This allows
the operator
to
use either the hand key or the
Electronic Keyer at his
own
discretion.
EXTERNALPADDLE
An external paddle may be connected to the
GND,
DOT, and
DASH
terminals of the Elec-
tronic Keyer. This will permit the use of either
the external connected paddle or the Electronic
Keyer without any interaction. See Figure
4.
The
external paddle may be of
a
type that will allow
simultaneous operation of two separatepaddles.

MITTER OR HEADPHONES
SIDETONE

shows the Electronic Keyer used with
a
transmitter having a built-in sidetone, suchas
the Heathkit SB-400. The receiver speaker or
head~hones connected to the receiver mav be
used to reproduce the transmitted and received
signals. The Volume control on the Electronic
USE
Keyer should be turned fully counterclockwise.
