• Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the machine on. A wrench or a key that
is left attached to a rotating part of the machine may result in personal injury.
• Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or clothing that has cords or belts, jewellery,
and the like. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes,
jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
• Prolonged use of the machine may lead to disorders of blood circulation in hands caused by
vibration. These effects can be worsened by low ambient temperatures and/or by gripping
the handgrips excessively tightly. Period of use you can extend with appropriate gloves or
regular breaks. Take frequent work breaks. Limit the amount of exposure per day.
• Use the machine only on a firm, level surface and in an open area (e.g. not near a wall or
a solid object).
• Keep the workspace without obstacles, such as logs, split wood, etc.
• Do not reach into the splitting area.
• The machine can only be operated by one person. The splitting operation design is designed
for one-person control. If there is a possibility that an assistant can help, then only one
operator can control the splitting operation.
• The machine must be operated with both hands. Never block the trigger mechanism or its parts.
• Prior to working, check the hydraulic pipes and hoses and test the machine’s stop function.
• Always use equipment for clamping logs with all vertical splitters.
• Only cut wood in the direction of the woodgrain. Never insert logs against the direction of
the woodgrain (for example, to divide them).
• When splitting chopped wood, irregular shaped logs, branches, etc. there is a danger risk
from the mechanical properties of such wood. Due to the splitting of such wood being
unpredictable, there is a risk of ejection, jamming, crushing, etc.).
• Do not insert wood containing nails, screws, in-grown ropes, stones and the like.
• Always remove the blocked log only when the machine’s motor is switched off, which then
must be secured against accidental start-up (disconnect the power supply).
• Do not leave a machine in operation unattended.
• Always maintain a steady balance and firm posture. Do not reach over the machine. Do not
stand at a higher level than the machine base when inserting material into the machine.
• Always stay out of the removal area when the machine is in operation.
• When loading material into the machine, be careful it does not contain pieces of metal,
stones, bottles, cans or other foreign objects.
• If the machine starts to generate unusual noise or vibration, immediately turn off the engine
and stop the machine. Do the following:
- inspect it for damage;
- check and tighten all loosened parts;
- have any damaged parts repaired or replaced with original parts.
• Keep the engine clean from sawdust and other deposits to prevent damage or risk of a fire.
• Seek medical help immediately if leaking hydraulic fluid has caused an injury.
• Make sure that the hydraulic hoses do not touch any hot or moving parts where there
is a risk of them being damaged. The hoses should be placed outside the engine and
the splitting area.
PREPARATION
• Examine the machine ensure it is in good condition, check all the screws, nuts and other
fasteners are properly secured and the screen is in place. Replace unreadable labels.
• Keep all guards and deflectors in place and in good working condition.
