Test the Emergency Stop
This procedure should be performed every 250
hours or quarterly, whichever comes first.
A properly functioning Emergency Stop button
is essential for safe machine operation. An im-
properly operating red Emergency Stop button
will fail to shut off power and stop all machine
functions, resulting in a hazardous situation.
As a safety feature, selecting and operating the
ground controls will override the platform con-
trols, except the platform red Emergency Stop
button.
1. Turn the key switch to ground control and
pull out the red Emergency Stop button to
the on position at both the ground and
platform controls.
2. Push in the red Emergency Stop button at
the ground controls to the off position.
Result: No machine functions should oper-
ate.
3. Turn the key switch to platform control
and pull out the red Emergency Stop but-
ton to the on position at both the ground
and platform controls.
4. Push down the red Emergency Stop but-
ton at the platform controls to the off posi-
tion.
Result: No machine functions should oper-
ate.
Note: The red Emergency Stop button at the
ground controls will stop all machine opera-
tion, even if the key is switched to platform
control.

Test the Key Switch
This procedure should be performed every 250
hours or quarterly, whichever comes first.
Proper key switch action and response is es-
sential to safe machine operation. The ma-
chine can be operated from the ground or plat-
form controls and the activation of one or the
other is accomplished with the key switch. Fail-
ure of the key switch to activate the appropriate
control panel could cause a hazardous operat-
ing situation.
Perform this procedure from the ground using
the platform controls. Do not stand in the plat-
form.
1. Pull out the red Emergency Stop button to
the on position at both the ground and
platform controls.
2. Turn the key switch to platform controls.
3. Check the platform up/down function from
the ground controls.
Result: The machine functions should not
operate.
4. Turn the key switch to ground control.
5. Check the machine functions from the
platform controls.
Result: The machine functions should not
operate.
6. Turn the key switch to the off position.
Result: No function should operate.

Test the Automotive-style Horn
This procedure should be performed every 250
hours or quarterly, whichever comes first.
The horn is activated at the platform controls
and sounds at the ground as a warning to
ground personal. An improperly functioning
horn will prevent the operator from alerting
ground personal of hazards or unsafe condi-
tions.
1. Turn the key switch to platform control
and pull out the red Emergency Stop but-
ton to the on position at both the ground
and platform controls.
2. Push down the horn button at the platform
controls.
Result: The horn should sound.

Test the Drive Brakes
This procedure should be performed every 250
hours or quarterly, whichever comes first.
