10 Firmware Upgrade
The meter and communication module support to update firmware remotely and
locally. Update firmware will not do in meter and module until the new version of
firmware is downloaded into the meter completely. The meter records the event log as
the firmware update.
The meter is fully compliant with the upgrade process defined in the DLMS
standard:
• Step 1: Get Image Block Size;
• Step 2: Client initiates Image transfer;
• Step 3: Client transfers ImageBlocks;
• Step 4: Client checks completeness of the Image;
• Step 5: Server verifies the Image (Initiated by the client or on its own);
• Step 6: Client checks the information on the images to activate;
• Step 7: Server activates the Image(s) (Initiated by the client or on its own)
After download to meter, meter should check all steps right, the CRC of the
firmware are correct, then can update new firmware.
If result of check for authenticity is negative, the meter will reject upgrade.
