Safety
The generator is tted with a number of labels that alert the user to the safe operation and safety requirements.
A full explanation of these is contained here. If any of the labels are missing or unreadable a duplicate should be
obtained and tted.

DIESEL FUEL ONLY
This generator must only be lled with
commercial diesel fuel containing up to 5%
bio-fuel. If special grades of diesel e.g. 100%
Bio-Diesel are to be used consult HGI rst to
discuss its suitability.

CHECK ENGINE OIL LEVEL DAILY
Check the oil level each day and top up if
necessary to the top mark given in the oil level
diagram above. If oil consumption is excessive
investigate further.

LOW LOAD RUNNING:
Operating the generator at low load levels for
extended periods can result in high levels of
carbon build up in the engine and exhaust
system which can lead to excessive smoking,
reduced efciency and overheating.
If the generator is not required switch it off and
avoid running with light or no load wherever
possible. Also see Maintenance Section.

ENSURE Generator IS AT LEAST 1 METRE
AWAY FROM BUILDINGS, VEHICLES etc.
WHEN IN USE.
This is to ensure a free ow of cooling air to
the generator and that the exhaust from the
generator does not affect other items.

KEEP FLAMMABLE MATERIAL AWAY FROM
THE GENERATOR
The exhaust and some surfaces are hot and
ammable material should not be allowed near
the generator.
