Trouble or fault Possible cause Action to be taken
No fastener is driven. Fastener or fasteners jammed in
the fastener guide
First remove the cartridge strip
and then remove the jammed
fastener.
Avoid shear breakages of the
fasteners. Avoid missing the
beam. It may be necessary to
mark the position of the beam
better in future.
Base plate cannot be
screwed fully into place.
The piston stopper is fitted the
wrong way round
Unscrew the base plate, insert
the piston stopper the right way
round and screw the base plate
on again page 14.
The piston guide is clogged with
dirt behind the connecting thread.
Clean the piston guide.
Lubricate the connecting
thread.
The tool cannot be pressed
fully against the working sur-
face
The rotating sleeve is not fully
closed.
Close the rotating sleeve.

The nail detector is jammed. Clean the base plate and
remove all foreign objects.
Take care to ensure adequate
lubrication of the fastener strip
guides with Hilti lubricant spray.
Part of the nail detector is broken. Check for correct operation of
the nail detector by checking
that the tool is ready for use
page 9.
No fasteners loaded in the tool Load the tool with fasteners.
9 Disposal
Most of the materials from which Hilti tools and appliances are manufactured can be recycled. The
materials must be correctly separated before they can be recycled. In many countries, your old tools,
machines or appliances can be returned to Hilti for recycling. Ask Hilti Service or your Hilti representative
for further information.
