Reconnect the fuel pipe or joint to remove the air. * A dirty air cleaner. Clean the air cleaner. If the problem persists, the carburetor may be malfunctioning, and you should contact Hitachi Authorized Service Centers.

In this case, fill the tank with the correct fuel mix (25:1-50:1). * The fuel may be old. Replace it with new fuel. * Too much fuel might have been absorbed, wetting the spark plug. Disconnect the spark plug and allow it to dry. Then, pull the starter handle 5 or 6 times to remove surplus fuel, attach the spark plug, set the choke lever to the RUN position, and pull the starter handle. * The fuel filter could be clogged with dirt. Clean the fuel filter. * The fuel pipe may be bent or disconnected. Ensure that the fuel flows smoothly.
