To prevent nails from jamming in your Hitachi Nail Gun, ensure you are using the specified nails. Remove any abnormal nails, such as those with heads that are too large or too small, or those with abnormal collating wires, and reload the nailer with proper nails. Also, remove any foreign matter from the feed piston chamber. If the nail feeding is incomplete, replace the abnormal part.

Why is my Hitachi Nail Gun not driving nails completely?
    • C
      Christopher FernandezAug 26, 2025
If your Hitachi Nail Gun is not driving nails completely, so the heads cannot be made flush with the workpiece, first, set the adjuster to the optimum position. If this doesn't solve the issue, adjust the air pressure to between 4.9 and 8.3 bar (5-8.5 kgf/cm2, 70-120 psi). If the workpiece is too hard, the nailer cannot be used because the material is beyond its applicable range. Also, replace any abnormal parts such as a worn driver blade, a worn or damaged piston O-ring, a cylinder with an abnormal inside surface, or a worn or damaged cylinder O-ring. Apply grease if there is a shortage of oil on both inside and outside surfaces of the cylinder, or if the exhaust valve is abnormal or short of oil.

Why does my Hitachi Nail Gun drive nails bent?
    • W
      Wendy AvilaSep 6, 2025
If nails are being driven bent by your Hitachi Nail Gun, it may be because the nails are not completely fed into the injection port, or unspecified nails are being used. Also, a worn driver blade could be the cause, so replace the part. If the workpiece is too hard, the nailer cannot be used because the material is beyond its applicable range.

What to do if my Hitachi NV 45AB2 has a weak drive and is slow to cycle?
    • R
      Robert DavisSep 12, 2025
If your Hitachi Nail Gun exhibits a weak drive or cycles slowly, try the following: Increase the air pressure, but do not exceed 120 psi (8.3 bar 8.5 kgf/cm2). Readjust the tool. Use Hitachi pneumatic tool lubricant. If the driver blade is worn, contact Hitachi for a replacement. Also, check if the piston O-ring is worn or damaged.
