Takeatrialdrivebeforeleavingonyourrstlargejourneyin
ordertofamiliarizeyourselfwiththemotorhome.Remember
topractisereversing.Thebasevehicleisacommercialvehicle;
adjustyourdrivingstyleaccordingly.
The following applies for driving:
•
Donotunderestimatethelengthandwidthofthemobile
home.
Duetotherelativelylongrearoverhanglargervehi-
cles can veer to one side and, in unfavourable conditions,
the rear can hit the ground.
• Becarefulwhendrivingintoinnercourtyardsandthrough
entrance gates.
• Themotorhome may starttoswing fromsideto side in
cross-winds, on wet or icy roads.
• Ifthemobilehomestartstoswing,stepcarefullybutrmlyon
the brake to stabilise the vehicle.
2.6 While driving
Your motor home is not an automobile!
Inmanysituations,itreactsverydierentlytoa“normal“au-
tomobile.Therefore,youshouldbepreparedforthefollowing
dierences:
Passenger safety
The following applies while driving:
• Onlythoseseatsequippedwithsafetybeltsmaybeused
bypassengers.
• Peoplemaynotbelyinginthebedswhiledriving.
• Passengersmustremainintheirseatswiththeirseatbelton!
• Onlyinstallchildren'scarseatsonseatsthathavebeen
ttedbythemanufacturerwiththree-pointbelts.
• Turntheswivelseatsinthedirectionoftracandlockthem
intoplace.Theseatsmaynotbeturnedwhiledriving.
• Locktheslidingseat*intoitsoriginalposition.
• Donotopenthedoorlatch!
• Noextrapassengersmayremaininthevehicle!
