Steering Friction Bolt
The steering friction bolt adjusts
steering resistance.
TO
Turn the bolt clockwise to increase
friction for holding a steady course
while cruising or to prevent the out-
board motor from swinging while
trailering the boat.
FRI
TO DECREASE
Turn the bolt counterclockwise to
reduce steering friction.
STEERING FRICTION BOLT
Tilt Lever
The tilt lever enables the outboard
motor to be raised for shallow water
operation, beaching, launching, or
mooring.
To tilt raise the outboard motor us-
ing the handle on the engine cover.
The spring-loaded tilt lever will au-
tomatically move into position and
hold the outboard motor when it
caches approximately 75”.
To return the outboard motor to the
normal RUN position, hold the out-
board motor and pull the tilt lever,
then slowly lower the outboard mo-
tor.
