HELPFULTIPS & SUGGESTIONS
1. With the outboard motor in a vertical position, place an approved gasoline
container below the fuel drain outlet, and use a funnel to avoid spilling fuel.
Turn the fuel filler cap vent knob counterclockwise to the open position.
Gasoline is highly flammable
and explosive.
You can be burned or
seriously injured when
handling fuel.
l Keep heat, sparks, and
flame away.
l Handle fuel only outdoors.
l Wipe up spills immedi-
ately.
DRAIN SCREW
2. Remove the drain screw, then move the fuel valve lever to the on position.
3. After all fuel has drained into the container, reinstall the drain screw.
Tighten the float bowl bolt securely.
4. Move the fuel valve lever to the off position and turn the fuel filler cap vent
knob clockwise to the close position.
Engine Oil
1. Change the engine oil (see page 42).
2. Remove the spark plugs (see page 47).
3. Pour a tablespoon (5 - 10 cc) of clean engine oil into each cylinder.
4. Pull the starter rope several times to distribute the oil in the cylinders.
5. Reinstall the spark plugs.
