Spark Plug Service
RECOMMENDED SPARK PLUG:
BKR6E-E (NGK)
Incorrect spark plug can cause
engine damage.
1. Unlock and remove the engine
cover (p. 62).
2. Disconnect the spark plug cap from
the spark plug.
3. Remove the spark plug with a
spark plug wrench and screwdriver
provided in the tool kit.
4. Inspect the spark plug. Replace it if
the electrode is worn, or if the
insulator is cracked or chipped.
5. Measure the spark plug electrode
gap with a wire-type feeler gauge.
Correct the gap, if necessary, by
carefully bending the side
electrode.
The gap should be:
0.024 - 0.028 in (0.6 - 0.7 mm)
