Installing hardware within the equipment tray
Considerations when installing hardware within the equipment tray.
Hardware, such as workstations and thin clients, are installed in the
lower portion of the equipment tray. Located above any installed
hardware, in the upper portion of the equipment tray, are the cable
trays, which can be used for securing excess cable lengths.
When installing a workstation from the equipment tray door, the rear
of the workstation should be positioned towards the front of the
console, and the front of the workstation should be positioned
towards the rear of the console. This ensures that most cable
connections at the rear of the workstation are as close as possible to
the power strip and cable tray located in the equipment tray.
When installing thin clients, it is strongly recommended that you use
the mounting kit supplied. This will ensure that additional spacing is
provided for the thin client, which requires additional ventilation so as
not to overheat. Failure to use the mounting kit could potentially lead
to equipment failure.
