5.B.(5)(c) Inverted “V” Antenna Mounting Location
(refer to “Figure 2002 - Typical Inverted “V” Antenna” )
The inverted “V” antenna is recommended when a wing “V” is not practical
and the antenna coupler is to be mounted in the aft position of the aircraft.
The inverted “V” antenna will produce maximum signal strength off the side
of the aircraft and will produce a moderate amount of drag.
The vertical fin anchor should be located as high as possible on the vertical
stabilizer. The feedthru insulator should be located approximately 3 feet (0.9
m) forward of the base of the vertical stabilizers and near the centerline of
the top of the aircraft.
