Section 1: Overview
1.1 Introduction
This document contains information for installing, programming and operating the UDACT-2, Universal Digital Alarm Communica-
tor/Transmitter.
1.2 UL 864 Compliance
1.2.1 Products Subject to AHJ Approval
This product has been certified to comply with the requirements in the Standard for Control Units and Accessories for Fire Alarm Sys-
tems, UL 864 10th Edition.
The following products have not received UL 864 9th Edition certification and may only be used in retrofit applications. Operation of the
UDACT-2 with products not tested for UL 864 9th Edition has not been evaluated and may not comply with NFPA 72 and/or the latest
edition of UL 864. These applications will require the approval of the local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
1.2.2 Programming Features Subject to AHJ Approval
This product incorporates field-programmable software. The features and/or options listed below must be approved by the local AHJ.

and Accessories for Fire Alarm Systems, UL 864, certain programming features or options must be limited to specific values or not used at all as
indicated below.
