Seat Removal/Replacement
Removal
1. Remove controller.
2. Remove the controller cable from the seat base by releasing the Velcro
strap at the rear of the seat or opening the seat clip at the side of the
seat, depending on the type of seat you have. Open the clip by pinching
the small tabs on the clip with one hand while removing the strap with
your other hand. (See Figures 7C, 7D and 7E, below for recline seat).
3. Using the 1/4 inch hex wrench supplied with the vehicle, loosen the cap
screw located at the top-front corner of the seat post. (See Figure 7F,
page 46).
4. Grasp the seat at the front and back and lift seat directly upward until
it is free of the seat post.
The power wheelchair and its components are heavy. To avoid
injury, do not attempt to lift beyond your capability.
Replacement
1. Grasp the seat at the front and back.
2. Align the male post of the seat bracket with the seat post and
allow seat bracket to descend into the seat post.
3. Tighten the socket head cap screw at the top-front corner of the seat
post with the 1/4 inch hex wrench that is supplied with the vehicle.
4. Reattach the controller cable to the seat by reinstalling the Velcro strap
on the rear of the seat or into the clip at the side of the seat, depending
on the type of seat you have. Position the cable to the minimum length
to allow the arm to lift. Tighten the strap to keep the cable in position.
To prevent cable damage, do not let the cable hang free or extend
beyond the chair. Use care when driving to keep the cable from
catching on objects.
