Isolation
is
a
measure
of
the leak
age
b
et

the
test

the
signal
paths.
The
isolation
error
terms
are
c
haracterized
b
y
measuring
transmission
(S21,
S12)
with
loads
attac
hed
to
b
oth
p
orts
during
the
error-correction
pro
cedure.
Since
these
terms
are
lo
w
in
magnitude,
they are
usually noisy
(not
v
ery
rep
eatable).
The
error
term
magnitude
c
hanges
dramatically
with
IF
bandwidth
:
a
10
Hz IF
bandwidth m
ust
b
e
used
in
order
to
lo
w
er
the
noise
o
or
b
ey
ond
the
crosstalk
sp
ecication.
Using a
veraging
will also
reduce the
peak-to-p
eak noise
in
this
error
term.
