Internal Components
This section describes the internal components of the B2600 workstations.
For instructions on how to remove and install the workstation’s PCI cage, memory cards
(DIMMs), removable mass storage devices, system board and power supply, see Chapter 3.

System Board
The system board in the B2600 contains the PA-RISC microprocessors and memory slots
as well as connectors to other components.
Microprocessor
The B2600 has one PA-8600 microprocessor with an operating frequency of 500 MHz. This
processor has a 0.5 MB instruction cache and a 1.0 MB data cache. The microprocessor is
cooled by a “turbocooler” which consists of a cylindrical heat sink and an integrated fan.
