7.3 Hood Sensor
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Section 7.1, “Preparation for Disassembly”).
2. Loosen the thumbscrew 1, lift the computer from the computer stand 2, and lay it on its
side

3. Remove the computer access panel (Section 7.5, “Computer Access Panel”).
4. Remove the front bezel (Section 7.6, “Front Bezel”).
5. Raise the drive cage to its upright position.

CAUTION: If a MultiBay drive has been installed, raise the drive cage only far enough to access the
hood sensor to avoid damaging the drive.
6. Disconnect the hood sensor cable from the system board.
