It is important to be aware of the E-MSM720 front panel features as they are
referenced throughout this document.

Network Ports
■ Four auto-sensing 10/100/1000Base-T ports. All these ports have the
“Auto-MDIX” feature, which means that you can use either straight-
through or crossover twisted-pair cables to connect any network devices
to the E-MSM720.
■ Two dual-personality ports for either 10/100/1000Base-T RJ-45 (Auto-
MDX) uplinks, or optional mini-GBIC (SFP) slots for fiber uplinks.
