Before removing the bottom cover, prepare the computer for disassembly (see Preparation for disassembly on
page 29).
Remove the bottom cover:
1. Close the computer and turn it upside down with the front toward you.
2. Remove the front and rear rubber foot strips (1).
The rubber foot strips are available in the Rubber Kit, spare part number M45467-001.
3. Remove the four Phillips M2.0 × 5.2 screws (2) that secure the bottom cover to the computer.
4. Remove the two Torx5 M2.0 × 4.3 screws (3) that secure the bottom cover to the computer.
5. Open the computer and rest it on its display back cover with the bottom toward you.
6. Insert a keyboard removal tool (1) into the bottom cover front screw holes and press until the bottom cover
front edge (2) disengages from the base enclosure.
