4. Lift the front edge of the solid-state drive (1) until it rests at an angle.
5. Remove the solid-state drive (2) by sliding it away from the slot at an angle.
6. Inspect, and if necessary, thoroughly clean the thermal pad from the surfaces of the solid-state drive and
the shield each time the solid-state drive shield is removed. Replacement thermal material is included with
the solid-state drive spare part kit. The following illustration shows the replacement thermal pad locations.
A thermal pad is used on the solid-state drive (1) and on the solid-state drive shield (2). Replacement
thermal pads are also available in the Solid-State Drive Thermal Pad Kit, spare part number M46333-001.
