b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
3. Do one of the following:
o Extend the server from the rack (on page 17).
o Remove the server from the rack (on page 19).
4. Remove the access panel (on page 20).
5. Remove the secondary PCI riser cage ("Remove the PCI riser cage" on page 23).
6. Remove the baffle from the controller board.
7. Disconnect the existing Mini-SAS cables from the system board and the drive backplane.
8. If you intend to use a cache module and a HP Smart Storage Battery, install these options now.
("Controller options" on page 42)
9. Install the storage controller ("Expansion board options" on page 64).
H240 and P440 boards can only be installed in slot 1.
10. Connect the common end of the Mini-SAS cable to the controller option.
11. Install the secondary PCI riser cage ("Install the PCI riser cage" on page 25).
12. Route the Mini-SAS cables alongside the system board and connect the connectors to the drive
backplane.
o H240 Host Bus Adapter to the 4 LFF drive backplane
