MTP mode
The Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) is used to transfer media files, such as
pictures, songs, and videos, between your phone and a computer. The MTP
mode is only compatible with Windows Media Player 10 or later.
1.
Use a USB cable to connect your phone to the computer.
2.
On the
USB computer connection
screen, choose
Media device (MTP)
.
The phone driver is then automatically installed on the computer.
3.
After the driver is installed, follow the onscreen instructions on the
computer to view or transfer files.
PTP mode
The Picture Transfer Protocol (PTP) is another method to transfer pictures and
videos to your computer.
1.
Use a USB cable to connect your phone to the computer.
2.
On the
USB computer connection
screen, choose
Camera (PTP)
.
The phone driver is then automatically installed on the computer.
3.
After the driver is installed, follow the onscreen instructions on the
computer to view or transfer files.
Mass storage mode
In mass storage mode, you can use your phone as a USB mass storage device
and transfer files between your phone and a computer.
1.
Use a USB cable to connect your phone to the computer.
2.
On the
USB computer connection
screen, choose
USB mass storage
.
The phone driver is then automatically installed on the computer.
3.
The computer will identify your phone as a USB mass storage device. You
can then transfer files between your phone and the computer.
If you unplug your phone from your computer while it's transferring or
saving data, you might risk losing some data.
