8.11.1 Introduction
2FXS/2FXO/2E&M can be used in R2600/3600 series. It is mainly responsible for
processing the 2-channel analog voice signal and transmitting the voice signal over the
data communication network.
2FXS (2-port analog subscriber) module provides ordinary analog telephone access.
2FXO (2-port ring trunk) module and 2E&M (2-port E&M trunk) module provides switch
trunk access.
Caution:
While connecting 2FXS/2FXO/2E&M, make sure that the R2600/3600 series have been equipped with at
least one network module connecting to the WAN to guarantee that the router can be connected to the IP
network or to other WANs.
