This document is an installation and operation guide for Hussmann TY3ECRC and TYA3ECRC series multi-deck, self-contained spot merchandisers, also known as "ENTYCE" models. These units are designed for medium-temperature applications such as deli, dairy, and beverage display. They feature an extended canopy and round corners.
Function Description:
The TY3-ECRC-S model series are refrigerated merchandisers intended for the storage and merchandising of food products in air-conditioned stores. They are available as self-contained units, meaning each model includes its own factory-installed condensing unit beneath the display area, ready for operation once electrical service is connected. The cases are designed to maintain product temperature for maximum shelf life and visibility.

Usage Features:
- Store Conditions: Designed for use in air-conditioned stores with ambient temperatures of 75°F at 55% RH or 80°F at 55% RH. Avoid placement near HVAC vents, entrance doors (minimum 15 ft clearance), or obstructions that create air currents.
- Clearances: Minimum 8 ft intake and exhaust clearance from solid walls, 10 ft vertical clearance, and 36 inches clearance from open aisles for proper cycle ventilation. At least 15 ft from entrance/exit doors. Obstruction of air vents will impair performance.
- Exterior Loading: Not designed to support excessive external loading. Users should not stand on the top, deck, or shelves to prevent damage and injury.
- Leveling: The case must be level for proper operation and water drainage.
- Stocking: Product should be pre-chilled before placing in the display case. Do not overstock beyond the recommended load limit. Ensure air discharge and return air flues are unobstructed. Avoid supplemental flood or spot lighting.
- Body Panel Removal: Panels are secured by retaining clips at the top and resting hooks at the bottom. To remove, lift the panel upward from the resting hooks, then pull outward and down from the retaining clips.
- Lifting Instructions: Use J-Bars or Jacks for lifting. Do not push, pull, adjust, or manipulate by glass components. Do not stand on the case. Ensure proper support points are used based on case size. Smaller dollies (36 in. or less) require one dolly per corner. Avoid contact with critical refrigeration and electrical components during lifting.
- Electrical: Field wiring must be sized according to the serial plate amperage. Always disconnect electrical power at the main disconnect before servicing. The case must be grounded. Standard lighting includes full-length LED lights at the top.
- Controller: Features a Danfoss AK-CC210 controller for temperature control. A user guide for the controller is provided, accessible via QR code.
Maintenance Features:
- General Maintenance:
- Inspect and clean condenser coil monthly using a vacuum cleaner with a wand attachment and a soft brush.
- Inspect drain screens for debris and remove if present.
- Inspect honeycomb for dust buildup.
- Ensure no price tags, placards, or merchandising garnish obstruct air return.
- Ensure shelves are not stocked outside of their limits.
- Case Cleaning: Shut off fan before cleaning. Use mild soap and water for cleaning interior and exterior surfaces. Do not use abrasive cleaners or steel wool.
- Sanitizing: Regular cleaning and sanitizing are essential to prevent bacteria buildup. Use an OIL BASE or AMMONIA BASE solution for cleaning. Rinse with hot water and allow to dry completely.
- Condensate Evaporator Pan Setup and Maintenance: The merchandiser includes an evaporator pan that turns on when the float switch is triggered to evaporate drained water. A metal receiver collects excess water. Periodically check for excess water accumulation, especially if store conditions exceed design specifications. If water accumulates, siphon it out and dry the receiver, then correct store conditions.
- Fan Blade Replacement: The evaporator fan is located directly under the deck pan. Always replace the fan blade with the raised embossing side of the blade installed toward the motor.
- Honeycomb Removal & Cleaning: Remove small Phillips screws behind the rear edge of the honeycomb. Pull the front hand end gently, then pull down. Clean the honeycomb with mild detergent and water. Install by inserting the notched side up against the reflector and pressing upwards.
- LED Driver Replacement: The power supply for LED fixtures is located under the canopy in a dedicated electrical box. Remove body panels, screws, and replace the ballast as required.
Troubleshooting:
The manual provides a comprehensive troubleshooting guide for common issues such as:
- Water on the Floor: Check drain trap, PVC drain pipes, store conditions (humidity/temperature), evaporator pan wiring/function, and power consistency.
- Fan Emits Excessive Noise: Check alignment, cleanliness, bearing wear, secure mounting, and obstructions.
- Fans are not Working: Check main power switch, fan plugs, obstructions, and wiring.
- System is not Operating: Check utility power, circuit breaker, and condensing unit switch.
- Case is not Holding Temperature: Allow time for warm product to adjust, check temperature controller settings, avoid sun/heat/AC vents, verify store A/C, check location near outside doors, and adjust set point temperature.
- Case Lights are not Working: Check light switch, bulbs, cleanliness, LED driver voltage, and connections.
- Control Display is Flashing: Check temperature controller section.
- Condensing Unit is not Operating (Self-Contained units only): Check temperature controller section, power, and settings for accuracy. Note that the condensing unit controller display will go off when the Danfoss controller is not calling for cooling.
