5.3.5 Roaming
The Roaming and Scan features can not be set for the same channel. The Scan
feature is mainly used in direct mode or Repeater mode to scan channels in the
scan list, while the Roaming feature is mainly used in the IP Multi-site Connect
network to scan channels in the Roam list. Therefore, the Roaming feature is not the
Scan feature for the conventional communication system.
the Roaming feature requires specific use environments. Generally, communication
made on the master site will not be affected. If the terminal moves from one site to
another while communicating, the communication will be interrupted because the
terminal needs to connect to the repeater again.
However, the communication quality will be the same no matter which site the
terminal operates on.
Communication services such as voice and data cannot be made during roaming.
The Roaming feature requires the terminal to searches different channels
continuously, while communication services require a specific channel. Therefore,
the Roaming feature and communication services cannot be executed
simultaneously.
In summary, the mutual influence between the Roaming and communication
services mainly depends on the specific use environments.
