Fax/voice modem software 
program invokes but has no

Ensure that the modem voice-in cable from modem 
adapter card to system board CN21(for 2170) or 
CN12(for 2171/2172) is connected properly. See

Modem ring cannot wake up 
system from suspend mode. 
Ensure the “Modem Wake-Up on Ring” in BIOS 
Setup is set to [Enabled]. “Power Management

to PCI slot firmly or replace modem card. 
If ISA modem card is used, ensure the modem ring-
in cable from the modem card to system board 
CN19(for 2170) or CN13(for 2171/2172) is

In Win 98 ensure that telephone application is 
configured correctly for your modem and set to 
receive messages and/or fax.

Load default settings (if screen is readable).
