1.8 Comparison between models
The Power 750 contains either one, two, three, or four 8-core 3.5 GHz or 8-core 4.0 GHz
POWER7+ DCMs within the system unit.
The Power 760 contains either one, two, three or four 0/12-core 3.1 GHz or 0/12-core
3.4 GHz POWER7+ DCMs within the system unit.
On both systems each processor core has access to 256 KB of L2 cache and 10 MB of L3
cache. Each processor on a DCM connects to eight DDR3 memory DIMM slots; a total of
16 DIMM slots per DCM. Each memory module is a 1066 MHz DIMM, and are delivered in
pairs. Memory features contain two memory DIMMs per feature code, with features ranging
from 8 GB to 64 GB per feature code.
Table 1-12 summarizes the processor core options and frequencies, and matches them to the
L3 cache sizes for the Power 750 and Power 760.
