Chapter 4. Customizing Your Operations
Following are some typical tasks that you may want to perform soon after the installation is complete.
Changing the Name of a CPC
A CPC name was defined during installation. The Change Object Definition task is used to change the
CPC name. Once the change is complete, the CPC's definition will be changed in all the groups that
contain that CPC.
1. Logon in Access Administrator mode
2. Open Task List from the Views area
3. Open Object Definition from the Task List Work Area
4. Open Groups from the Views area
5. Open Defined CPC's from the Groups Work Area
6. Drag and drop the CPC object on Change Object Definition in the Configuration area.
The CPC Configuration Information panel displays.
7. Type in the new CPC name in the CPC name field.
8. Select Save.
The Change Object Definition Task Confirmation panel displays.
9. Select Yes.
Allow enough time for the Support Element to re-boot. Change the labels on the Support Element and
CPC to match the new name or number that you assigned to it.
Disabling Service Status
During installation the CPC is placed in Service Status. After installation, Service Status should have
been disabled. To determine if the CPC was left in Service Status, open the CPC to the details panel and
look at the status condition at the top of the panel. If in Service Status, it will read
Service Status
.
To disable Service Status on the CPC, use the Disable service status task. While a CPC is in Service
Status, exceptions will be masked and the images defined on that CPC will not appear in any image
group.
To disable service status:
1. Log on in any mode
2. Open Task List from the Views area
3. Open Service from the Task List Work Area
4. Open Groups from the Views area
5. Drag and drop the CPC object onto Service Status in the Service area
6. Select the CPC to customize.
7. Select Options from the action bar.
8. Select Disable service status from the pull-down.
9. Select Save
10. Select OK
11. Select Cancel to return.
