Hardware Messages
Hardware Messages displays consolidated hardware related messages for all the CPCs. The hardware
related message, and any underlying failure detail windows, are displayed when one or more CPC(s) is
dragged and dropped on the Hardware Messages object.
The Hardware Messages object flashes blue if there are new messages pending. Messages relating to
the CPC can be displayed by selecting the CPC and dragging it to the Hardware Messages object.
Example of how to handle a Hardware Message:
You may receive a hardware message related to an exception that just occurred. First select the
Exception View, then drag the CPC object associated with the exception and drop it on Hardware
Messages to investigate the problem.
Note: If you have a Hardware Management Console or Optical Link message, the object associated with
that message displays in the Work Area.
For additional information on hardware messages, see Hardware Messages in the
Hardware
Management Console Operations Guide

Operating System Messages
Operating System Messages display consolidated operating system generated messages for the CPC
Images. The console integration messages, along with any underlying operating system message
windows, display when the CPC image objects or a CPC image group, is dragged and dropped on the
Operating System Messages object.
