Extra features, explained in this section, are available only on some versions of the IC-78. Therefore, the
instructions in this section are not necessary for some versions.
To enter VFO mode, push [FC] for 1 sec.

D Tuning
The transceiver has several ways of tuning for tem-
poral operation as follows;
• Tuning with the channel selector
By rotating the channel selector, operating fre
-
quency changes in the desired tuning step, set in
the quick set mode. (p. 30)
This is the most convenient way when searching
for signals around the pre-programmed frequency.
• Tuning with the keypad
Enter the frequency as follows.
➥ For duplex operation setting, push [TXF] then set
the transmit frequency, after the receive frequen-
cy is set.
Appears only when 1 Hz
