DSC OPERATION
Receiving DSC calls (Continued)
When a Group Call, Geographical Area Call, or All Ships Call
is received:
The alarm sounds for 2 minutes.
“RCVD GROUP CALL,” “RCVD GEOGRAPHICAL,” or
“RCVD ALL SHIPS CALL” is displayed. The backlight may
blink for 2 minutes, depending on the received Category.
q Push [ALARM OFF] to stop the alarm and the blinking
backlight.
• Even if you do not push [ALARM OFF], the alarm stops after 2
minutes, and then the screen in step w is displayed.
w Push a softkey to select your desired action.
[IGN]
Push to ignore the Call and return to the normal operating
mode.
• The transceiver exits the DSC mode.
• “ ” continues to blink and the Call is stored in the Received
Call Log.
[INFO]
Push to display the Received call information. (p. 63)
[PAUSE] (For only USA version transceivers)
Push to pause the countdown.
• The softkey is displayed if the “CH Auto Switch:” item in the DSC
SET menu (p. 66) is set to “10 sec.”
• Push [RESUME] to resume the countdown.
• The call is saved in the received call log.
[ACPT]
Push to monitor the channel specified by the calling sta-
tion for an announcement from the calling station.
• Push [EXIT] to return to the normal operating mode.*
* Only USA version, the exit confirmation dialog (p. 29) is displayed.
Note for Geographical Area Call
When no GPS receiver is connected or if there is a prob-
lem with the external receiver, all Geographical Area Calls
are received, regardless of your position.
