Use a 50/50 mix of 5-year extended warranty propylene glycol coolant and
water. e cooling system will take between 5 gal (19 L) and 7 gal (26 L) of
coolant.
1. With the coolant cap o, cycle the engine speed from idle to 2,000 rpm
in 10-second intervals while engine temperature is below 104°F (40°C).
Rell the coolant reservoir as needed.
2. Install coolant cap.
3. In NEUTRAL, cycle engine speed from idle to 3,000 rpm in 30-second
intervals until the coolant temperature reaches 169°F (76°C).
4. Shut o the engine.
5. Top o coolant reservoir as needed.
6. Cycle engine speed from idle to 3,000 rpm in 30-second intervals until
the coolant temperature reaches 169°F (76°C).
7. Top o coolant reservoir as needed.
8. Check coolant level aer rst complete warm-up and cool-down cycle.
Additional coolant may need to be added.
FLUSH THE COOLERS
1. Drain heat exchangers of raw water.
Open cooled systems will have a transmission heat exchanger, an
oil heat exchanger, or both. Remove heat exchanger drain plugs and
allow draining.
Closed cooled systems will have an engine heat exchanger, as well
as a transmission heat exchanger, an oil heat exchanger, or both.
Remove heat exchanger drain plugs and allow draining.
2. Flush fresh water through the coolers from the raw water ttings. An
adapter may be needed. It is better to ush water from one end of the
cooler and then from the other end. is should ush out any foreign
particulates.
