Overview

This document describes the IMILAB V1 Vacuuming Robot, a smart cleaning device designed for indoor household use. The robot vacuum is equipped with various sensors and features to provide efficient and autonomous cleaning, along with a dust collection dock for enhanced convenience.

Function Description

The IMILAB V1 Vacuuming Robot is primarily designed for vacuuming and mopping floors in an indoor environment. It operates autonomously, navigating through rooms to clean various floor surfaces. The device can be controlled via a mobile application, allowing users to start/pause cleaning, schedule cleaning times, and monitor its status remotely. A key feature of this robot vacuum is its integration with a dust collection dock, which automatically empties the robot's dust box, reducing the frequency of manual emptying. The robot is capable of smart recharging, returning to its dock when the battery is low or after completing a cleaning cycle. It also supports whole map cleaning, ensuring comprehensive coverage of the cleaning area.

Usage Features

The robot vacuum offers several user-friendly features for operation. To power on/off, users press and hold the power button for 3 seconds. A short press of the same button initiates or pauses a cleaning cycle. The device provides voice prompts for various statuses, such as "Entering network settings," "Factory settings will be restored," "Start cleaning," and "Cleaning completed. Returning to recharge." Indicator lights on the robot and the dust collection dock provide visual cues for battery status, network connection, charging status, and abnormal conditions.

Network settings can be accessed by pressing and holding the power and recharge buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds. For factory reset, these buttons need to be held for 10 seconds, followed by another 10 seconds after a voice prompt. The robot can enter a sleep mode after 20 minutes of inactivity to conserve power.

The device connects to a Wi-Fi network via the Mijia app, which can be downloaded by scanning a QR code or searching in an app store. The app allows for remote control, scheduling, and firmware updates. When updating firmware, the robot should be charged to at least 50%. If Wi-Fi connection needs to be reset, users can press and hold the power and recharge buttons for 10 seconds until the Wi-Fi indicator flashes blue and a voice prompt confirms the reset.

For mopping, the 2-in-1 dust box and water tank module can be removed, and the mop cloth can be wetted and attached. The water tank is filled through a dedicated inlet. The robot will automatically return to the dust collection dock for recharging when its battery is low or after completing a cleaning task. The dock will also automatically clear the dust box after the robot returns from cleaning, indicated by a flashing green arrow on the display.

Safety features include the ability to detect and report faults, with the indicator light flashing red and an error message being read out. The robot will enter sleep mode after 10 minutes of inactivity following a fault. Users are advised to remove safety strips from the front bumper before initial use.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for optimal performance of the IMILAB V1 Vacuuming Robot. The manual provides detailed instructions for cleaning various components:

  • 2-in-1 Dust Box and Water Tank: This module should be cleaned regularly. It involves pressing a release button to remove it, opening the dust box catch, and removing the filter cover. A brush can be used to clean the filter and filter cover. The dust box should be rinsed with clean water until no dirty water comes out. The mop cloth should be removed and cleaned separately, not while attached to the water tank. Mop cloths are consumable and should be replaced every 6-12 months.
  • Main Brush: The main brush is a consumable and should be cleaned at least once a week, with replacement recommended every 6-12 months. To clean, the robot is flipped over, the catch on the main brush cover is pressed, and both the cover and brush are removed. A cleaning knife can be used to cut entangled hairs and clean the brush.
  • Side Brush: The side brush should be cleaned or replaced every 3-6 months. A screwdriver is used to remove the screw and take out the side brush.
  • Dust Bag: The dust bag in the dust collection dock is a consumable and needs regular replacement when full, indicated by an orange flashing light on the dock or an app notification. To replace, open the cover, pull up the handle of the old bag, dispose of it, insert a new bag, and close the cover.
  • Dust Vent: If the dust collection station's indicator light continues to flash orange after replacing the dust bag, the dust vent may be blocked. Users should unplug the power cable, flip the dock over, and use a screwdriver to remove the transparent dust vent cover to clear any blockage.
  • Sensors: All sensors, including cliff sensors, infrared sensors, charging plates, and the wall PSD detector on the robot, as well as infrared lenses and charging/dust collection sensor heads on the dock, should be wiped gently with a dry, soft cloth once a week to ensure normal operation.
  • Battery: The robot has a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery. To maintain performance, it should be charged daily. For extended storage, the robot should be fully charged, powered off, and stored in a cool, dry place, with charging at least once a month to prevent damage. Disposing of old batteries should be done properly through professional organizations.

The manual also emphasizes general precautions, such as using the product only indoors, avoiding elevated environments without protective fences, and not using it in extreme temperatures or on wet surfaces. Users should remove wires and fragile objects from the floor before cleaning. Children and pets should be supervised and kept away from the robot during operation. The lidar cover should not be used as a handle. Liquids should not be spilled on the product, and it should not be flipped upside down. Only original power adapters and charging stands should be used, and the battery or charging stand should not be disassembled or modified.
