  If you find white smoke coming from the Air Fryer Lid of your Instant Pot Electric Pressure Cooker, it may be due to cooking foods with a high fat content. Try to avoid air frying such foods. Another cause can be moist food; in this case, pat dry food ingredients before air frying. Also, seasoning on food may have blown into the element; be careful when seasoning food, and spray vegetables and meats before adding seasoning so it adheres to the ingredients.

  If the Instant Pot Air Fryer Lid is in place but will not turn on, ensure it is seated correctly on the pressure cooker base. Inspect the power cord on the pressure cooker base to ensure a good connection and that the power cord is pushed firmly into the cooker base. For microswitch issues, contact Customer Care.

  Minor steam leaking or hissing from the steam vent during the cook cycle of your Instant Pot Electric Pressure Cooker can happen if the lid isn't set to the Lock position. Check the Lid Lock to ensure it’s set to Lock. It can also occur because the multicooker is regulating excess pressure, which is normal and requires no action.

  If your Instant Pot Electric Pressure Cooker's display remains blank after connecting the power cord, first inspect the power cord for any damage. If you notice damage, contact Consumer Care. Then, check the outlet to ensure it is powered. It's also possible that the multicooker’s electrical fuse has blown, in which case you should contact Consumer Care.

  If the inner pot is stuck to the lid when you open your Instant Pot Electric Pressure Cooker, it may be due to suction created by the cooling of the inner pot. To release the vacuum, press the Steam Release on the Control Panel and wait for the food content inside the inner pot to cool down. Alternatively, there might not be enough liquid in the inner pot. Check for scorching on the bottom of the inner pot and add 1 1/2 cups (375 mL) of thin, water-based liquid.

  If you're finding it hard to close the lid on your Instant Pot Electric Pressure Cooker, it's likely because the contents inside are still hot. Press the Steam Release on the Control Panel, then lower the lid onto the multicooker base and wait for both the steam and temperature to reduce before you try closing the lid again.

  If steam gushes from the steam vent of your Instant Pot Electric Pressure Cooker, it could be due to not enough liquid in the inner pot. Add 1 1/2 cups (375 mL) of thin, water-based liquid to the inner pot. Alternatively, it could be a pressure sensor control failure, in which case you should contact Consumer Care.
