  The lid might be difficult to close due to several reasons: * The sealing ring may not be properly installed, so ensure it is correctly positioned. * The float valve might be in the popped-up position; slightly press it downward. * There may be pressure inside the cooker. Position the steam release handle to the venting position to release the internal pressure. Open the lid after the pressure is completely released.

  If the float valve is stuck in the popped-up position, ensure steam is completely released by turning the steam release handle to the Venting position. Then, carefully press the float valve lightly with a long utensil. After opening the lid cautiously, clean the float valve and lid before using it again.

  If steam is leaking from the side of the lid of your Instant Pot Electric Pressure Cooker, make sure the sealing ring is installed correctly. If it's damaged, replace it. Also, check for and remove any food debris attached to the sealing ring. Ensure the lid is closed properly. If the sealing ring rack is warped or the inner pot rim is misshapen, contact Customer Care.
