    • R
      Renee LeeSep 16, 2025
If the float valve on your Instant Pot Electric Pressure Cooker does not rise, it could be due to food debris on the valve or silicone cap. Remove the float valve from the lid and clean it thoroughly. Also, make sure there's enough liquid in the inner pot. If the silicone cap is damaged or missing, replace the float valve. If the float valve is obstructed, tap it with a long utensil. If the valve still doesn't drop, turn the cooker off and contact Customer Care. If there is no heat in the inner pot, or if the inner pot base is damaged, contact Customer Care.

If steam gushes from the steam release when the steam release handle is in the Sealing position on your Instant Pot Electric Pressure Cooker, add more thin, water-based liquid to the inner pot according to its size. If the issue persists, it may be due to a pressure sensor control failure and you should contact Customer Care. Also, ensure the steam release valve is properly seated and in the Sealing position.

Why is it difficult to open the lid of my Instant Pot Duo Mini?
    • M
      Mark MercadoSep 13, 2025
If you're having difficulty opening the lid of your Instant Pot Electric Pressure Cooker, it's likely due to pressure inside the cooker. Release the pressure according to the recipe, and only open the lid after the float valve has dropped down. If the float valve is stuck, ensure steam is completely released, then gently press the float valve with a long utensil. Clean the float valve, surrounding area, and lid before the next use.

      Emily RileySep 7, 2025
If you notice minor steam leaking or hissing from the steam release valve during the cook cycle of your Instant Pot Electric Pressure Cooker, ensure the steam release handle is in the “Sealing” position. Mark MurrayAug 20, 2025
Why is the Instant Pot Electric Pressure Cooker lid hard to close?
    • D
      David ChanAug 21, 2025
The lid might be difficult to close due to several reasons: * The sealing ring may not be properly installed, so ensure it is correctly positioned. * The float valve might be in the popped-up position; slightly press it downward. * There may be pressure inside the cooker. Position the steam release handle to the venting position to release the internal pressure. Open the lid after the pressure is completely released.
